Mission Wealth Denver 2024 Retreat

This year, Mission Wealth hosted its annual firm retreat in Denver, Colorado, at the Limelight Hotel Denver. More than 110 team members from across the country gathered for three days of connection, reflection, and—of course—elevation of the firm’s mission.

Taking Mission Wealth to New Heights

The retreat began with an afternoon of fun as team members ventured into the vibrant energy of Denver. Groups dispersed to explore local brewery tours, art museums, and some of the finest restaurants in the Mile High City. Others engaged in a more adventurous experience with an exciting round of archery dodgeball. The evening culminated with a happy hour, dinner, and games at Wynkoop Brewing Company, where team members connected while enjoying billiards, darts, and Denver’s local craft beers.

Reflecting on Peaks Reached and Horizons Ahead

Day two began with a team photoshoot and breakfast, followed by presentations from the Leadership Team, who highlighted the firm’s accomplishments over the past year and offered a glimpse into the future for 2025. Keynote speaker Anand Sekhar, Fidelity Vice President of Practice Management & Consulting, provided valuable insights and outlined industry trends during the team meeting.

The retreat also featured an inspiring moment as Mission Wealth introduced the Mission Wealth Scholar Recipients. Jen Brown, Praveen Krishnamurthy, and BoiAn Nguyen-Sanh shared their personal stories, highlighting how the scholarship program will impact their futures. Their heartfelt narratives uplifted the group and reinforced the positive influence Mission Wealth has on individuals and communities.

Elevating the Future

On the third day of the retreat, Chief Impact Officer and Co-Founder Seth Streeter kicked off the morning with an icebreaker activity, encouraging personal reflection and deeper connection among team members.

In keeping with the theme of elevation, the team then participated in a reflective session, using Easy Retro Board software to outline a give-year plan for Mission Wealth’s future. The session focused on key areas such as culture, client experience, growth, innovation, and technology, as team members brainstormed and voted on the best strategies to help the firm reach new heights. This was followed by two informative presentations—one by Cliffwater Managing Director Phil Hasbrouck and Kieran Osborne, and another by Molly Woodhull, who led a session on “Meditation for Productivity,” helping team members enhance their focus and performance.

A Grand Slam Finale

The retreat concluded with a grand surprise and celebration—a private tour and party at Coors Field. The team toured the iconic stadium, participated in a friendly speed-pitch competition, and enjoyed cocktails on the field. The evening wrapped up with dinner overlooking the stunning views of the ballpark, and a special visit from pro baseball player Chad Bell.

A highlight of the night was when Seth Streeter presented the 2024 Mission Wealth peer nominated MVP award to Senior Wealth Advisor Associate Martina Mendoza, honoring her exemplary representation of Mission Wealth’s core values—caring, committed, growth-minded, and adaptable.

Giving Back to Mile-High Communities

Mission Wealth continues to prioritize philanthropy and giving back as central to its values. At each retreat, the firm organizes a volunteer initiative to positively impact the local community. This year, Mission Wealth partnered with Project Helping and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver’s Money Matters program. Together, team members assembled financial literacy kits to help local teenagers and young adults develop essential life skills, such as managing a checking account, creating a budget, saving and investing, starting small businesses, and planning for college. Through this initiative, Mission Wealth continues to elevate its commitment to making a difference in the communities it serves.
