The event tempted guests with an impressive array of silent auction items including the best in local food and wine, art, adventure experiences, and merchandise from water-loving companies. The Blue Water Ball helped Channelkeeper raise critical unrestricted funds that enable them to protect the waterways and beaches that make this one of the most beautiful coastal communities on earth.
This year SB Channelkeeper brought an inspiring keynote speaker named Sara Aminzadeh. Ms. Aminzadeh is the Executive Director of the California Coastkeeper Alliance and is the driving force behind the Blue Business Council, a network of companies working to protect the state’s most vital and threatened natural capital—the coast, ocean, bays, rivers, and streams that power our economy.
Santa Barbara Channelkeeper is a grassroots non-profit organization whose mission is to protect and restore the Santa Barbara Channel and its watersheds through science-based advocacy, education, field work and enforcement. They work on the water and in the communities along the Santa Barbara Channel to monitor water quality, restore aquatic ecosystems, advocate for clean water, enforce environmental laws, and educate and engage citizens in implementing solutions to water pollution and aquatic habitat degradation.
