Learn About Peter Ahrens
Professional Background
Peter Ahrens started his career by founding and running a business early on, but his journey into financial planning began when he interned with AHC Advisors in St. Charles, IL. Later, at JMG Financial Group, Peter gained valuable experience in financial planning, tax planning, and tax preparation. This time was formative in his approach to building a plan for each client that is unique, thorough and workable. Peter served clients as a wealth advisor at Keystone Financial Services before finding his home at Mission Wealth in 2023.
Peter holds his Bachelors in Business Administration from Judson University and has a strong background in business and taxes. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM and ABFP® designations.
Personal Pursuits
Hailing from the picturesque outdoor playground of Fort Collins along the Colorado Front Range, Peter is an avid runner, hiker, and cyclist. He cherishes exploring with his wife, Rebekah, and four kids. As a Midwest transplant, Peter remains a devoted supporter of the Chicago Bears. Playing the guitar is another passion, and Peter enjoys strumming solo or jamming with friends whenever he gets the chance. Most weekends, you'll find him engrossed in a book on history or economics, savoring a good cup of coffee.
Community Impact
Peter volunteers with the community at his local church, Vineyard of the Rockies. He also spent two years working for The Father’s House International, an organization that cares for widows and orphans around the globe. During his time there, he helped manage the mission base in Henderson, Kentucky, while also working at bases in Israel, Palestine and Guatemala.
I love Peter's knowledge and passion, but most importantly, I feel like he really cares about helping me make the most of my earnings. I love knowing that I have options available to me, and he explains the thinking behind his recommendations and takes the time to help me understand and feel comfortable with my choices.
The timing of Peter and me joining Mission Wealth and being matched up is ideal. I feel like I have more than an advisor; I have a trusted partner…which is exactly what I was hoping. Some companies view their employees as resources to use, and others view them as assets for investment and growth. I’m glad to see Mission Wealth falls into that latter category.
