Kieran Osborne is the Chief Investment Officer and a Partner at Mission Wealth. He is responsible for overseeing portfolio management, trading, analysis, and research functions. Mr. Osborne conducts in-depth manager due diligence and monitors fund performance on an ongoing basis. His extensive knowledge across a variety of asset classes supports Mission Wealth’s constructive portfolio design, ultimately helping to ensure the financial needs and goals of the firm’s clients are met.
Every day is different at Mission Wealth. I’m always learning something new, whether it be about markets, economics, investments, technological enhancements. We never rest on our laurels; we always want to evolve – from adding new asset classes or investments, to enhancing our existing processes. And working with such a phenomenal team is just icing on the cake.
Professional Background
Before joining Mission Wealth, Kieran Osborne served as the Director of Research and Co-Portfolio Manager at Merk Investments, a mutual fund management company focused on international fixed income and currency investments in Palo Alto.
Kieran also has experience working as an Equity Analyst for a New Zealand-based asset management firm, where he provided analysis and investment recommendations on Australian and New Zealand publicly listed stocks within the consumer discretionary, consumer staples, property, and retail sectors. He also has experience trading and analyzing small and micro-cap U.S. stocks while holding a trading and analyst position for a New York-based hedge fund.
Kieran is a CFA Charterholder, holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, and a Master of Business in Finance from the University of Otago in New Zealand. He furthered his education as a graduate exchange student at the University of Texas at Austin, where he completed his Master of Business degree.
Personal Pursuits
Kieran Osborne, along with his wife Amy and their two young children, enjoy all the benefits that living in Santa Barbara, California offers. They spend time with their dog and explore the local hiking trails around the city. Kieran also enjoys other outdoor activities like pilates, tennis, basketball, swimming and surfing.
Community Impact
Kieran is an active member of the Santa Barbara community, and has been actively involved with local youth sports. He has coached and refereed AYSO soccer teams and Santa Barbara’s youth rugby league. Previously, he held the position of Board Treasurer for the Santa Barbara Youth Rugby Club, and was the Vice President and member of Santa Barbara Humane Society’s finance committee.
