“The aim of life is appreciation; there is no sense in not appreciating things; and there is no sense in having more of them if you have less appreciation of them.” - G. K. Chesterton
Role at Mission Wealth
As a client advisor at Mission Wealth, Mark becomes personally acquainted with the specific goals and financial lives of his clients and then delivers customized financial planning, risk management, and tax strategies to assist in their goal achievement.
Mark loves the challenge of understanding each client's unique situation and goals, and helping them find the best way to achieve them. This is a relational business and he takes the responsibility of our role and the client's trust in Mission Wealth very seriously.
After over seven years as a Blackhawk helicopter pilot, Mark transitioned out of the Army and pursued an MBA. Inspired by his father's 43-year career in financial services, he completed the CFP curriculum and left his corporate role at Dell to work for a small wealth management firm in Austin.
"With many years of financial planning experience, I'm fortunate to have landed at Mission Wealth where I have the resources and ability to best serve clients."
Mark has a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point, in addition to an MBA from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. Mark also completed the Financial Planning Certificate Program at the University of Texas, Austin. In 2016, Mark earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®️) designation
Marks wife and two young kids keep him busy with their activities and interests. For Mark, coaching youth sports is a new passion; especially soccer and hockey for his son's teams. Mark enjoys spending family time outdoors on Austin's many hike and bike trails, as well as traveling to national parks. Additionally, Mark plays in an adult hockey league after taking a 20+ year break from the sport.
Mark continues to serve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves as an instructor for the Command and General Staff College. In addition, Mark has volunteered financial planning for Homes For Our Troops and served on the board of the Austin Financial Planning Association.
