Credentials
Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning
Those who have earned an MS in Financial Planning are prepared to advise their clients on a wide spectrum of financial needs. Course topics include advanced pension and estate planning, financial planning, executive compensation, business and personal tax planning, security analysis and portfolio management, and financial statement analysis. The curriculum is based on a client-centered, problem-solving method using case studies to give students a hands-on approach.
Certified Financial Planner™
To achieve the certification, individuals must demonstrate their financial planning competence through extensive education and a rigorous board examination focusing on the areas of financial planning, taxes, insurance, estate planning and retirement. CFP® professionals must also complete continuing education programs each year to maintain their certification status.
Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®
The professional training for the certification is focused on understanding and estimating the long-term costs of a divorce, including the tax consequences of divorce agreements, the process of dividing and valuing property fairly, determining how much alimony and/or child support is appropriate and for how long, and modeling the future values of retirement and pension funds. Candidates must complete four modules during their training to achieve the designation and must obtain continuing education credits each year to maintain their certification status.
