Questions Cohen Helps Answer
- How can I make thoughtful financial decisions when emotions are high?
- How can my family have more productive conversations about money?
- What might be influencing my financial decisions without me realizing it?
- How can I make financial decisions that reflect what matters most to me?
- How can I navigate both the financial and emotional sides of a major life transition?
As a Behavioral Wealth Specialist, Cohen is often brought into conversations when a financial decision also involves emotions, relationships, family dynamics, or a significant life change. She helps clients slow down complex decisions, better understand how their experiences and relationship with money may be shaping their choices, and identify practical next steps within the broader financial plan.
I love working as a thought partner with clients and advisors in navigating the behavioral dynamics of wealth and life transitions, fostering greater alignment and connection to well-being.
Cohen’s Frequently Asked Questions
A financial plan can tell you whether you can retire, but it may not prepare you for the emotional transition into retirement. It can recommend an estate plan, but it does not necessarily help a family have difficult conversations about legacy. It can model different scenarios during market volatility, but those numbers alone may not resolve the fear or uncertainty involved. Cohen helps clients address these human aspects of wealth so they are better equipped to make and implement important financial decisions.
Professional Background
Cohen brings a background in marriage and family therapy and a certification in financial therapy to her role at Mission Wealth. Her training provides a foundation for understanding the emotional, relational, and behavioral dynamics that often accompany wealth and financial planning. Prior to joining the team, Cohen spent 6 years at Wealth Enhancement Group helping clients strengthen communication around finances, align their financial decisions with what matters most, and expand their definition of wealth beyond the numbers.
Before working in the finance industry, Cohen honed her skills as a therapist while working in healthcare, schools, and private practice.
Personal Pursuits
Cohen resides in Atlanta and loves exploring new places with her son and husband. Born and raised in California, the ocean is her happy place, and she also enjoys the arts, travel, and trying new cuisine.
Community Impact
As a former elite level figure skater, Cohen is passionate about the athlete experience and giving back to the athlete community. She serves as an Executive Board Member for Athletes’ Soul — a non-profit focused on supporting the well-being of athletes through athletic retirement and the transition away from sports. She is also actively involved with Mission Wealth’s Women on a Mission group, supporting efforts to help women build greater clarity and connection around money and wealth.
