Walter Rizo serves as an Investment Associate at Mission Wealth. He is responsible for trading, investment research, and portfolio performance analysis.
In his spare time, Walter enjoys cooking for friends; especially dishes that showcase his New Orleans and Latin American roots. He enjoys reading classic American novels and staying up to date on global financial markets. For fun, he enjoys Broadway, stand-up comedy shows, and going out for dinner and drinks with those he loves.
Walter has been in the financial services industry since 2015. Prior to Mission Wealth, Walter spent a combined 7 years at Charles Schwab and Merrill Lynch where he gained extensive wealth management experience including portfolio management, trading, and wealth planning.
Walter has a BBA in Finance and Economics from Loyola University, New Orleans. Walter is currently looking to enhance his contribution to the Mission Wealth Investment Team by pursuing a CFA designation. He is a level III candidate set to take his final exam in August.
As a first-generation Hispanic-American, Walter is passionate about helping his community. During his time with the Young Leadership Council of New Orleans he served as a mentor to African American and Hispanic high school students, encouraging them to pursue higher education and guiding them through the college application process.
