Adam Broughton is a Partner and Senior Wealth Advisor at Mission Wealth, serving high-performing families and individuals primarily in Central Texas and California. He provides tax-intelligent financial and investment advice to help his clients avoid mistakes and confidently navigate the journey from high earner to High-Net-Worth and beyond. His typical client involves a high degree of financial complexity, which may include equity grants from an employer, deferred compensation planning, multiple sources of income, unique family entity or trust structures, IPO, and founder liquidity planning, as well as philanthropic, legacy, and multi-generational estate planning.
Adam joined Mission Wealth in January 2026 when PBL Wealth Management, the independent fiduciary firm he founded, became part of Mission Wealth. The integration preserved PBL’s disciplined, tax-aware planning approach while expanding access to Mission Wealth’s broader team and resources.
Simply having more money does not necessarily mean having confidence when it comes to planning for the future, choosing investments or navigating important financial decisions. In fact, sometimes having an abundance of resources just means there are more stressful decisions to be made and making the wrong one becomes more expensive. Generational wealth is built and maintained as a family links together a series of small, wise decisions over a lifetime. What’s needed is trustworthy, timely advice from a professional wealth adviser and a plan that’s crafted around your unique situation and goals.
Adam’s Frequently Asked Questions
Adam begins by listening carefully to understand each family’s values, definition of success, and most important goals. His process then progresses through three coordinated phases: the Family Profile, the Investment Plan, and the Advanced Plan. Together, these phases connect personal priorities with cash flow, investments, taxes, and long-term planning. Adam also coordinates with the client’s Mission Wealth specialists and outside professionals to help move the plan forward and maintain progress toward the family’s most important objectives.
Professional Background
Adam started in practice in November 2007, just as the Financial Crisis was taking hold. This unique starting point shaped his perspective on planning, investing, and the absolute necessity of unbiased, fiduciary advice. Markets don’t always go up, and events outside our control can have a major impact on even the best strategic plans. Adam helps clients think through not only “Plan A” but also design various fallback strategies while responding to changing conditions. His goal is to empower clients with timely advice and sound planning so they can live with peace, even if things do not go as expected.
Adam is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional and CERTIFIED PRIVATE WEALTH ADVISER™ Professional. He is the author of multiple books, including The Founder’s Guide to Business Succession, Maximizing Your Compensation: An Executive’s Guide to Accelerating Wealth, and a contributing author to So You Want To Be A Financial Planner? (7th edition). He is also regularly featured in articles on leading industry sites, including Forbes.com, MyStockOptions.com, Horsesmouth.com.

Adam believes in being a lifelong learner and is an avid reader. He is also a guitarist, a mediocre golfer, and a Dodgers fan. Adam and his wife, Amy, live in Driftwood, TX, with their three children and two very spoiled dogs.
